Mas de la Fourbine

Comme je vous l’ai dit précédemment, les cinq semaines de vacances que nous avons passées au mas de la Fourbine ont été très agréables et nos enfants, comme nos amis ont été ravis.

Le Mas est magnifique et très bien restauré. J’aurai juste deux petites remarques : nous avons trouvé que les abords de la piscine (plage, parasols,…)  n’étaient pas à la hauteur du reste de la propriété, mais ce n’est pas grave et, par ailleurs, la quantité d’eau chaude est juste. Après 6 ou 7 douches, les derniers prennent des douches froides.

Mais ce sont des désagréments minimes au regard de la qualité des prestations.

En ce qui concerne le personnel, la femme de ménage, Valérie, a été très efficace et nous a rendu plein de petits services et le cuisinier, Stéphane Bourgeois, à la fois excellent et gentil, s’adaptant au goût de chacun et n’hésitant pas à faire des plats différents pour satisfaire tout le monde.

We had a wonderful time this week!

My mother, brother & his wife, Sister & her husband and two of her grown children... experienced the beauties of this lovely region. 

We began our trip with a delicious dinner from Chef Ronald and his lovely assistants. Absolutely marvelous. We relaxed on the breezy porch while they took care of everything... including cleaning up.

The 8 of us visited the lovely Le Baux... climbed up the face of the castle... shopped in the shops.

* Arles.. to see the wonderful roman theater/ruins. Very interesting.. and beautiful views from the top!

 * St. Remy de Provence on market day. What an excellent selection of food and things to buy. My mother bought two wonderful, hand crafted hats by a local artisan... My sister and I bought jewelry... and much more. 

* Avignon - to the Palace of the Popes.. and to my mother's favorite.. the beautiful bridge made famous by the children's song she sang to us as children.

We have tasted delicious wines, (at every lunch and dinner!) olive oils, crepes, and mistakenly ordered Eel from a restaurant. We tried some succulent duck, lamb kabobs, and some really good coffee.

Thanks for everything! Your guide book for guests was very helpful. Your home is beautiful, peaceful, wonderful. We will never forget our trip to La Mas de Fourbines.
